Dark brick slips on a cladding element with a product label

QUESTIONS? WE’VE GOT ANSWERS

Is the STOFIX façade system fireproof?

Yes. Our system is fire rated with Euroclass A2‑s1,d0.

Can STOFIX be used in high-rises?

Yes. Due to its fire class architects and planners can create buildings over 18 meters without height restrictions.

How are the STOFIX panels fixed?

STOFIX brick slip panels are mechanically fixed to the system rails, creating a continuous cavity between the insulation or load-bearing wall and the cladding. This separated construction prevents structural movement within the building from being transferred to the brick slip cladding.

Can any type of brick slip be used with the STOFIX system?

In principle, all kiln-fired brick slips manufactured to EN 771-1, EN 14411 and with F2 frost resistance can be used. Nevertheless, we always subject new products to our in-house testing.

What is the maximum size of a STOFIX element?

The maximal cladding element dimensions are approx. 1200 × 600mm / 0.72m² (subject to brick specification).

What is the weight of a STOFIX element?

The weight of a STOFIX element is from approx. 43kg/m² which is approx. 29 kg for the biggest element size (subject to brick specification).

Which bonding / brick bond patterns are available?

STOFIX provides Stretcher, English, Flemish, Stack, and Soldier bonds. Other special bonds are available on request.

Is the STOFIX system limited to any building type?

No. The STOFIX system can be used for any type of building, e.g. hospitals, office buildings, schools, apartment buildings, hotels, etc.

How are the brick slips fixed within the panel?

The brick slips are mechanically restrained to the backing sheets via the joint factory-applied STOFIX mortar.

Can STOFIX be used near the coast?

Yes. STOFIX uses ZM430 Magnelis® Steel for the backing plates and substructure, as well as stainless steel on request, thus offering maximum corrosion protection.

How many brick colours and textures are available?

An unlimited number, as all colours and textures from well-known brick manufacturers can be used.

How many mortar colours are available?

STOFIX offers a total of eleven different mortar colours for maximum design variety.
