Stofix UK’s first deal

Stofix was selected to implement a facade cladding for a residential building in Croydon south of London.

This is Stofix UK’s first deal and the project is fairly large even considering the UK market as a whole. The 21-storey Ruskin Square has more than 6200 m2 of clad brick facade area.

Installation speed was the key reason why Stofix UK was chosen to implement the facade. Another decisive factor was Stofix UK’s facade panel mounting system.

– Also the columns and beams of the building can be clad using Stofix’s mounting system, says Jarkko Lasanen, who is in charge of Stofix’s international operations.

Personalised appearance with handmade bricks

Architect Allford Hall Monaghan Morris designed Ruskin Square. A slightly more personalized appearance is sought in the building’s brick panel cladding so ordinary brick panels cannot be used.

– The Ruskin Square is one of the many projects currently starting, which are implemented completely using handmade bricks. We use Wienerberger’s bricks, which are sawn to correct thickness and then mounted onto the brick panels. Both light and dark bricks will be used in the building, says Lasanen.

For Stofix UK, the Ruskin Square project will begin in March when the first facade panels are delivered.

– After completion, the project will be yet another proof of how demanding projects we are able to implement. I hope this will further strengthen people’s opinion about Stofix as a technically leading actor, says Lasanen.
